Ghida works as a quantitative engineer in the edge infrastructure team of Facebook in London. In this context, she performs data analysis and modeling and builds data-driven tools to assess the efficiency of Facebook edge infrastructure and drive decisions of Facebook network design and expansion. Prior to joining Facebook, Ghida worked for 6+ years in the Telco and media industry, in France and the Netherlands, performing a multitude of roles including data science and machine learning, network planning and design, R&D and academic teaching. She holds a PhD and Masters in IT and Network Engineering from Telecom ParisTech, France leading engineering school in ICT, and completed e-specializations in data science and deep learning from Johns Hopkins university and deeplearning.ai. In 2016, Ghida launched rafiqi.net, a platform that leverages machine learning for connecting refugees to opportunities and mentors. She served and still serve as a mentor, technical trainer, speaker and board member for a multitude of NGOs & initiatives focused on youth and women empowerment through technology and entrepreneurship, particularly in the Arab world. She is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and appointed expert member of the World Economic Forum Global Future Councils. She enjoys learning and occasionally performing stand-up and improvisation, blogging, reading, hiking, yoga, learning new languages and globe trotting.
