As BuzzFeed’s Publishing Special Projects Lead, Samir oversaw the content strategy, editorial approach and growth of their social media accounts from 260k fans in 2012 to the over 60 million fans they have today. BuzzFeed is now regularly at the top of the list for success on social media and is the gold standard for comparison amongst new media organizations. Samir also worked across departments at BuzzFeed including editorial, tech, and data science to help shape the site to where it is today. He currently heads Social Media at The Dodo.
